So, this is where I begin. At the beginning.

How many beginnings can one person have?? I hope the answer is lots and lots and lots. Like most people, I am constantly searching for a purpose and deeper meaning for my existence. I have been telling myself for weeks that the hardest step is the first. Just get started. Sit down and write. Patterns will develop, inspiration will come. After that, a community of like-minded people will join you. We will all learn and grow together and live happily ever after, consumed by pure joy and abundance. Right? That is exactly how this is going to pan out, right?!

I will say that I am right in stating that the first step is the hardest. Most of us are consumed by fear even if we don’t realize it. Fear hides and lurks and steals potential success and thwarts the efforts of growth. Everyday, I learn something new about myself and lately that self discovery has been pointing (with exclamation points) at how scared I am to express myself. I go stiff thinking that I may not be received well, or that I will be judged, maybe people will not agree with what I have to say. Fortunately for me, I have the time and the energy to practice. I believe that the act of doing and practicing, not being afraid, is the only way I will overcome this seemingly insurmountable obstacle that is keeping me way to close to my comfort space. “Step out of your comfort zone” they say, “You will never know unless you try”. Well, here I am. At the beginning, where my comfort zone meets the edge of the world that is exploding with possibility. I’m only a tiny bit scared, so I’m going to try.

If you are reading this, it is safe to say that I made it past one blog entry.  I just want to thank you for being here, sharing this space with me. Growth cannot occur in solidarity, it is worth very little if not experienced collectively. Thank you for being a part of my tribe.

You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do.

  1. I couldn’t be more proud of you for stepping outside of your comfort zone and sharing your thoughts and feelings with others. You have much wisdom to share, Natalie Rose. I am thankful to always be a part of your tribe. Xoxo, Mama G
